Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao condemned the arrest of Group-1 aspirants and demanded their immediate release.

He termed the arrest of peaceful protestors, including women aspirants of Groups exams around 9 pm, as unlawful. “This is ridiculous governance,” he said, urging Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari to discuss with chairman of the Telangana Public Service Commission and resolve the issue amicably.

The police arrested peacefully protesting women aspirants at Ashok Nagar traffic signal at 9 pm on Thursday. They raised doubts over the descripencies in the number of candidates qualified in the Group-1 prelims and those attending the Group-1 mains.

They stated that while around 31,382 candidates qualified for the mains exam, the Chief Secretary announced that 34,383 candidates will attend the exam. “On what basis were these new 3,000 candidates were freshly added?” they asked.
