KTR detained: BRS, Congress supporters clash outside Bowenpally police station

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at the Bowenpally police station after BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao was taken into preventive custody by the police while he was on his way to the Erravelli farmhouse at Hakimpet on Tuesday afternoon.

Police detained Rama Rao and shifted him to the Bowenpally police station. Soon after news of his detention spread, a large number of BRS leaders and supporters gathered outside the police station in the evening, raising slogans against the Congress government.

The situation became tense as BRS supporters raised “Down Down CM” slogans and protested against Rama Rao’s detention, demanding his immediate release.

Meanwhile, Congress workers also reached the police station, leading to heated arguments and verbal exchanges between Congress and BRS supporters.

The two groups confronted each other, with arguments breaking out and stones and sticks being thrown at each other.

Police personnel, deployed in large numbers, brought the situation under control and prevented it from escalating further.

BRS MLA T. Padmarao Goud also reached the Bowenpally police station. BRS leaders strongly condemned KTR’s detention, alleging that the Congress government was targeting their party leaders.
