Rajanna Sircilla: IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao on Monday emphasised the need to set up food processing units in a big way in the State.
“Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is planning to establish special food processing zones to produce modern food products and provide employment to local youth by exporting locally manufactured food items to other countries,” he said, addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for a food processing unit at Narmala of Gambhiraopet mandal.
Stating that the rural economy’s revival was under progress with four revolutions such as green (agriculture), blue (Aqua), pink (meat) and white (milk), the Minister said besides various welfare schemes, completion of irrigation projects were also yielding good results in strengthening the economy.
“When the sheep distribution scheme was started, nobody understood the core concept of the idea. Now, the State has reached a position where it can export meat to other parts of the country,” he said.
Similarly, the State government has taken several steps to bring the loss-making Vijaya Dairy into profits, he said, adding that the government was providing Rs 4 additional amount per litre to milk producers who supply milk to Vijaya Dairy.
The State, he said, had reached a position where it could provide food to the nation by cultivating crops in 1.5 crore acre and was also moving ahead in establishing agri-based industries.
Talking about the food processing unit established in Narmala, Rama Rao informed that four more units are going to come up in the surrounding areas. In order to provide employment to local youths, 260 acres of government land was allocated to food processing units.
So, it was the responsibility of local public representatives and political leaders to protect industries by cooperating with the management instead of creating troubles.
Promising to develop Sircilla constituency on all fronts, Rama Rao said more industries would be developed around Sircilla town.
Rama Rao assured to establish mini dairies and food processing units to provide employment to the people of 14 villages whose lands were submerged under Mid Manair reservoir.
Degree colleges to become model institutions
IT and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao on Monday said all the degree colleges in the State would be developed as model institutions.
“It is my responsibility to develop all degree colleges in the State as model institutions in the coming days,” Rama Rao said. Addressing a gathering after inaugurating government school and degree college in Gambhiraopet.
The Minister said the State government, under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekahar Rao, had established a total of 940 gurukulam residential schools in the State to provide quality education to students from poor families.
Instead of nominal education, a high quality education is being provided ensuing the students to compete with the rest of the world. Meals prepared with fine variety rice have been served to the students studying in residential schools. Fee reimbursement was also provided for higher education under Jyothiba Phoole and Ambedkar overseas scheme.
Industrialists coming to the State to establish their units were given permission on fast track mode under TS-iPASS. State government managed to provide employment to 14 lakh people under it.
Stating that everybody should have skill, reskill and off-skill, the Minister said that skilled people would get better employment opportunities.
Government was ready to provide all kinds of assistance to new entrepreneurs who wanted to start their own business. T-Hub was started to encourage enthusiastic entrepreneurs.
District library constructed in the name of a well-known writer and Jnanpith awardee, Dr C Narayana Reddy in Sircilla has become a center point for competitive examinations.
Rama Rao assured to construct a new building to facilitate a model Kindergarten to Post-Graduation center at one place by demolishing the existing dilapidated structures in Ghambiraopet.
Instructing officials to hand over the hostel to students by completing works, the Minister assured to establish Degree college at Yellareddypet.
