KTR, Harish condemn case against BRS leader Padi Kaushik Reddy
Raise serious questions about state of governance in Telangana, charge Congress government with undermining democracy and targeting BRS leaders through questionable actions
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao and senior MLA T Harish Rao raised serious questions about the state of governance in Telangana, charging the Congress government with undermining democracy and targeting BRS leaders through questionable actions.
They condemned the police for registering a case against Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy instead of addressing his complaint against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on phone tapping.
Taking to X, Rama Rao criticised the police officials at the Banjara Hills station for avoiding meeting Kaushik Reddy, who went to the station to lodge a complaint on his phone being tapped.
“Are officials afraid to meet an opposition MLA? Is this public governance or a mockery of democracy?” he questioned.
He said cases were being registered against BRS leaders for questioning the Congress government and asserted that such illegal cases would not silence the party’s fight for justice.
Harish condemned the filing of a case against an elected representative, calling it ironic and undemocratic.
“Instead of addressing his complaint, a case was registered against him. Is this the democracy that the Congress promised? Where is the justice?” he asked, pointing out that while Congress Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi was claiming to safeguard the Constitution, Revanth Reddy and other Congress leaders were repeatedly violating it.
Meanwhile, Harish left his residence to meet Kaushik Reddy at his residence in Kondapur, Hyderabad, on Thursday morning. Police personnel were deployed in large numbers at Kaushik Reddy’s residence.
