KTR, Harish Rao congratulate Padma awardees from Telangana
BRS working president KT Rama Rao has welcomed the announcement of Padma Shri awards for seven individuals from Telangana in the 2026 Padma Awards list. BRSLP deputy floor leader T Harish Rao also congratulated the awardees, noting their achievements have brought pride to Telangana.

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday welcomed the announcement of Padma Shri awards for seven distinguished individuals from Telangana in the 2026 Padma Awards list released by the Central government.
Describing the recognition as a matter of immense pride for the State, Rama Rao said it reflects the depth of talent across diverse fields. Out of 131 awardees nationwide, he said Telangana’s achievers have been honoured for excellence in science, medicine, arts and animal husbandry. He hoped that these honours would inspire future generations and further enhance the nation’s prestige.
He lauded Chandramouli Gaddamanugu, Krishnamurthy Balasubramanian, and Kumaraswamy Thangaraj for their exceptional contributions to science and engineering. He also praised surgeon Gudoor Venkat Rao and renowned cancer specialist Palakonda Vijaya Anand Reddy for making advanced medical care accessible to the public.
Celebrating cultural excellence, the BRS working president appreciated Kuchipudi dancer Deepika Reddy for her outstanding artistic achievements. He also paid tribute to the late Ramareddy Mamidi, who received the Padma Shri posthumously for his selfless service in the animal husbandry sector, calling it a recognition of dedication that often goes unnoticed.
