Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao and senior MLA T Harish Rao paid rich tributes to Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud on his birth anniversary, hailing him as a symbol of Bahujan valour and social justice.
Rama Rao said Papanna fought like a warrior against oppression and worked tirelessly for the self-respect of the downtrodden.
“It is a matter of pride for Telangana that Papanna Goud, who sacrificed everything for Bahujan empowerment, was born here,” he said, urging people to draw inspiration from his legacy.
He credited former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for organising Papanna’s birth and death anniversaries officially, ensuring that future generations imbibe his fighting spirit.
Calling Papanna a beacon of courage and equality, Harish Rao said Papanna will be remembered for time immemorial for striving for social and political equality. He said the BRS government had strived to realise Papanna’s vision by nurturing Dalit and Bahujan leadership and giving them opportunity in politics to continue his unfinished mission of social and political equality.
