KTR hits out Revanth Reddy over abusive theatrics, vows to expose Congress on water rights
BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing him of resorting to abusive rhetoric to cover up the Congress government’s failures on Telangana’s water rights. He alleged that the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project was being strangled and farmers betrayed.
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of resorting to abusive rhetoric to hide the Congress government’s betrayal of Telangana on water rights.
Reacting to the Chief Minister’s remarks against BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he said the outburst reflected panic and incompetence, not strength. While the BRS supremo confined his comments strictly to water rights without even naming the Chief Minister during his recent press meet, Revanth Reddy chose abuse over accountability.
In a strong counter on Wednesday, Rama Rao said that Revanth Reddy, unable to answer serious questions on river water sharing and irrigation policy, had resorted to cheap and abusive language. He said the Chief Minister was strangling the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project and betraying the people of his own district.
“When caught red-handed and exposed, his instinct is to shout, lie and indulge in vulgar theatrics,” he said, calling Revanth Reddy incapable of protecting Telangana’s interests and its farmers.
The BRS leader reminded that Revanth Reddy was an accused in the Cash-for-Vote case and was caught red-handed with bundles of cash, which indicated his political character. He said the Chief Minister was an expert in empty bravado, dramatic vows and then running away from responsibilities.
He said the Congress government’s destructive rule was pushing the State into distress and diversionary abuse would not erase its failures. He said the BRS would expose the Congress government’s water betrayal threadbare in the Legislative Assembly and in every public forum. He reiterated that the BRS would continue to question the injustice meted out to the State, which was achieved through unrelenting struggle.
Rama Rao asserted that people of Telangana had self-respect and could not be treated as subordinates to Delhi’s diktats. Predicting a decisive backlash, he said the people would bury the Congress politically at the first opportunity, adding that no amount of insults or drama would deter the BRS from fighting for Telangana’s interests and defending farmers’ rights.
