Starting Monday, he will tour Rajendranagar’s Hyderguda and Kishanbagh, followed by Amberpet on Tuesday to meet residents facing eviction due to the government’s controversial project.
Taking to social media platform X, Rama Rao condemned the evictions, calling the government’s actions “mindless and ill-conceived bulldozer bullying.”
He assured the public that the BRS would take every step possible to support those affected. “We will not stand by as people’s homes are destroyed for profit. This must be stopped,” he asserted.
When a netizen questioned about why he wasn’t addressing other constituencies between Rajendranagar and Amberpet, he responded that he was giving the elected representatives of those areas a few days to respond. “If they remain silent, as the principal opposition party, we will step in and visit all the affected regions,” he clarified.
The BRS working president said the Musi beautification was driven by the Chief Minister’s greed for a slice of the pie from the Rs 1.5 lakh crore project at the cost of citizens’ lives.
“Even as the people of the city are thrown into despair and heartbroken with the fear of losing their homes, you are playing politics with the lives of millions,” he said.
Rama Rao also appealed to the people of Hyderabad, urging them not to lose hope or take drastic steps amid the crisis. “There are courts, and there is the BRS, which will support you through thick and thin,” he said, reiterating his commitment to stand by the affected families.
