Ministers KT Rama Rao and P Ajay Kumar flagged off a bus service at the new RTC bus stand in Khammam on Friday.
Khammam: Despite lack of financial support from the Central government, Telangana has been witnessing rapid development for the past seven years, asserted IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Friday.
Accusing the BJP government at the Centre of neglecting the interests of the State, he said the Union government was only interested in collecting taxes from the State but not in releasing the State’s share, referring to the GST dues from the Centre.
Rama Rao was speaking after inaugurating and launching development works worth Rs 423.26 crore, including newly built RTC bus stand here on Friday.
Addressing a public meeting at the bus stand, he said whether it was establishing the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in Hyderabad or setting up Railway Coach Factory at Kazipet or Steel Factory at Bayyaram as promised in AP Reorganisation Act, the Central government remained non-committal despite several requests from the State government.
He urged the people of the State to give a thought to the negligent attitude of the BJP government. He said though there was no support from the Centre, the State government has been delivering every promise it made to the people.
Rama Rao urged the public to stand by the TRS government which has been delivering whatever the public had asked. With the special initiative taken by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Khammam witnessed amazing growth, he said.
He advised the elected representatives of the party to explain to the people the status of development before and after Telangana was created. ‘It is important to tell the people what we did in terms of development and to be in touch with them to learn their needs’ he noted.
The Minister assured to sanction three integrated vegetable and meat markets to Khammam, which he said stood as an example for development in the State.
Puvvada gets pat from his cabinet colleagues
Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar received appreciation from Rama Rao and R&B Minister V Prashanth Reddy for his zeal towards development. Ajay Kumar painstakingly follows up every development task at hand and gets the work done, they said.
‘It was very important for every leader to have such a passion. I learn something new every time I visit Khammam on how to develop a place in a swift manner. I urge public representatives from other places to visit Khammam on a study tour,’ Rama Rao said.
Ajay Kumar attributed his success to the hard work done by District Collector RV Karnan, Municipal Commissioner Anurag Jayanthi and TSRTC officials and felicitated the Collector and others as a mark of honour.
