BRS working president KT Rama Rao is seeking legal opinion to initiate further action in Formula E race case against him.
Hyderabad: With the Telangana High Court dismissing his petition to quash the Formula-E race case against him, BRS working president KT Rama Rao is seeking legal opinion to initiate further action. Senior BRS MLA and former minister T Harish Rao clarified that the High Court had neither confirmed allegations nor gave any punishment, but had only allowed further investigation.
“KT Rama Rao has already assured full cooperation with the authorities, asserting there is no corruption as alleged by the ACB. He had already visited the ACB office, but was not allowed inside, refusing to allow his advocates to accompany him. Neither Rama Rao nor the BRS derived any benefit from the Formula-E event, and no payments were made to the Greenko Group,” he pointed out.
Speaking to mediapersons at Rama Rao’s residence in Nandinagar on Tuesday, Harish Rao criticised the Congress government, charging Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of using the Formula-E race case to settle political scores. He said the Congress government was resorting to vendetta politics, pointing out that a case was registered nearly a year after the event and agreements were canceled by the Congress.
The senior BRS legislator slammed the Congress for diverting attention from its failures, particularly the reduction of Rythu Bharosa investment support from Rs 15,000 to Rs 12,000 per acre. “Every survey highlights the Congress government’s complete failure in governance over the last year,” he said, warning of more false cases against BRS leaders.
“We are not afraid of arrests, having faced imprisonment during the Telangana statehood movement. Our fight is for the people of Telangana. If Revanth Reddy thinks blackmail politics and false cases will weaken the BRS, he is mistaken. We will continue to hold him accountable until all electoral promises are fulfilled,” Harish Rao asserted.
Responding to a question, Harish Rao dismissed allegations of quid pro quo, stating that Greenko Group bore the expenses of hosting the international event, which enhanced Hyderabad’s global reputation. However, he reminded that Greenko opted out due to heavy loss in hosting the event.
