Hyderabad: With the State government stopping the opening of a ethanol factory at Dilawarpur in Nirmal district following severe opposition from local villagers, BRS working president KT Rama Rao urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to reconsider decisions affecting farmers and tribals at Lagacherla as well. He demanded for withdrawal of proposals to establish pharma and cement factories proposed at Lagacherla.
Taking to X, Rama Rao blamed Revanth Reddy for the unrest in Lagacherla and Dilawarpur by mishandling issues involving farmers. He said under the guise of an industrial corridor, the Chief Minister was working for benefit of corporate interests including his son-in-law and industrialist Gautam Adani at the expense of local communities.
Drawing parallels with the farmers’ protests in Delhi, he reminded that even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to yield to farmers’ power. He suggested the Chief Minister to give up his stubborn attitude, and act in line with public sentiment.
“Revanth Reddy must realise that admitting his mistakes and retreating from ill-conceived decisions would not harm his position. Ignoring these issues will only deepen the crisis, and he will be fully responsible for further consequences,” he asserted.
