Warangal: Kakatiya University Contractual Teachers Association (KUCTA) president Dr Sridhar Lodh has demanded the varsity management and the State government to take steps to hike salary/wages as per the University Grants Commission (UGC) pay matrix immediately for the benefit of the contract teachers.

Addressing the general body meeting of the association held at University Arts and Science College at Subedari here on Monday, Dr Sridhar said that the contract teachers were being meted out a raw deal with regard to the payment of the remuneration.


“The contract teachers working with the KU should be paid Rs 67,509 as per the UGC 7th pay matrix as we have all the eligibility criteria. Some of us have qualified for NET/SET and others are having the Ph.D degree. Keeping this in view, we must be paid a three per cent cumulative increment in addition to the monthly remuneration and Rs 5,000 for those with the qualification of NET/SET/Ph.D,” he said, and warned that they would take up agitations, if their demands are not met. Association Vice-President Dr T Nagaiah, Treasurer Dr Satish Kumar, members Dr A Suryam, Dr K Sadashiva, J Chandulal (Ph.D) and others attended the meeting.
