Mancherial: Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar opined that winning Kyathanpalli municipality was the first indicator of the BRS party’s return to power in the near future.
Kamalakar, along with Mancherial district BRS president Balka Suman and Asifabad MLA Kova Laxmi, addressed media persons at Suman’s residence after the BRS-CPI alliance secured the chairperson and vice-chairperson posts of Kyathanpalli municipality on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamalakar maintained that the unwavering spirit shown by the BRS-CPI alliance set an example for others and reflected the commitment of the party. It is a first step towards the party’s victory in the forthcoming elections. The outcome of the election was an eye-opener for the Congress, which tried to secure power through illegal and unlawful means, he opined.
The legislator asserted that the credit for winning Kyathanpalli by the alliance goes to Balka Suman. Kova Laxmi said that the Congress created hurdles to prevent the BRS-CPI alliance from capturing the two key posts. She stated that the electors reposed faith in the BRS when the Congress failed to fulfil its six guarantees promised at the time of polls.
Suman observed that the alliance protected democracy by winning Kyathanpalli municipality. The Congress mocked democracy by disrespecting the mandate given by electors and by creating hurdles during the election of the governing body. However, the alliance safeguarded democracy by facing odds and staying away from their families for 51 days due to conspiracies allegedly hatched by the Congress, he remarked.
The BRS leader opined that the recent municipal elections were a reflection of anti-incumbency brewing against the Congress government for not realising the six poll guarantees. He reiterated that the BRS would continue to fight against the Congress on behalf of the public and coal miners. He hoped that the Congress would not indulge in a witch-hunt and urged the party to join hands with the alliance to develop the municipality.
Former MLAs Nadipelli Diwakar Rao and Sunke Ravi Shankar, ex-MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao, CPI leader Kalaveni Shankar, AITUC leader Seetharamaiah, BRS leaders Dr Raja Ramesh, Mula Raji Reddy, Sardar Ravinder Singh, Vijith Rao, Challa Harishankar and many others were present.
