Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao garlanded the statue of former PM PV Narasimha Rao as part of his birth centenary celebrations in Hanamkonda on Monday
Warangal: The State government, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, is taking all steps to develop Laknepally, the birth place of former Prime Minister late PV Narasimha Rao, and Vangara, his native village, as tourist spots in his memory, Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao said here on Monday.
As part of Narasimha Rao’s birth centenary celebrations here in Hanamkonda, the Minister, accompanied by Chief Whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, MLA V Satish Kumar, Mayor Gundu Sudharani, PV’s relative and senior journalist PV Madanmohan Rao garlanded the statue of Narsimha Rao and paid glowing tributes to him at JNS grounds near Hanamkonda bus station.
“PV was a multifaceted personality. He was known as Apara Chanakya since he was a great statesman. He was very honest and sincere in his efforts to put the country on the development track by bringing in economic reforms. He was a litterateur and a polyglot,” Dayakar Rao said, adding that he was a big fan of the late prime minister who has great association with Warangal.
“Though PV owned hundreds of acre of the land, he brought the land reforms when he was Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh,” he added.
Vinay Bhaskar said the TRS government has renamed Necklace road in Hyderabad after Narasimha Rao. District Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu, ZP chairman Sudheer Kumar, and PV family members and relatives also paid rich tributes to Narasimha Rao on the occasion and recalled his yeoman services to the nation.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders including DCC president Naini Rajender Reddy demanded that the Centre confer the highest civilian award Bharat Ratna on the son of Telangana soil, Narasimha Rao, for his services to the country. Later, they paid tributes to Narasimha Rao by garlanding his statue. TPCC media convener EV Srinivas Rao and others also offered tributes to the great leader.
