Hyderabad: State units of Communist Party of India (CPI) and Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), have strongly objected to former Health Minister Eatala Rajender’s comments on Left parties and wanted him to desist from making such baseless allegations. Leaders from both the parties said Rajender was joining BJP only for self protection and to safeguard his properties.

CPI State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy said Eatala Rajender had said that he was a Communist to the core. But his plans to join a communal and fascist party like BJP reflects his personality, said Venkat Reddy while addressing media persons in a virtual conference on Saturday.

Taking strong objection to former Health Minister’s comments that everyone was aware as to who, decides the prospects of CPI contesting in elections, Venkat Reddy said CPI was a national party and decisions are taken by committees and national leaders. He felt that the former Minister’s were uncalled for and inappropriate. Joining BJP is his personal decision and CPI never commented on his political aspirations but he should desist from making baseless allegations, said Venkat Reddy.

“We consider TRS as a secular party and would join hands in elections to defeat a communal party like BJP,” said Venkat Reddy.

He further said that Rajender during his tenure in TRS had opposed the farm laws introduced by Central Government. Strangely, he is now planning to join BJP which enacted them, charged the CPI State Secretary.

The CPI has been demanding a thorough investigation into irregularities in assigned lands transactions by a judicial commission, said Venkat Reddy adding “Buying assigned lands is violation of laws and whoever buys such lands should handover them to Government”.

CPM State Secretary Tammineni Veerabadram too strongly condemned the comments made by former Minister Eatala Rajender.

It is very clear that Eatala Rajender was joining BJP only for his self protection, safeguard his assets and with political aspirations. It is not wise on his part to comment on Left parties, said Veerabadram in a statement.

“Eatala Rajender claims he is influenced by Left ideologies but is joining a communal party like BJP. This exposes his personality” said Veerabadram.

The Central Government has failed in containing the spread of Corona virus in the country, besides ensuring vaccination for all. It was unfortunate that Eatala Rajender was joining BJP, which is promoting communal hatred among people, he added.
