Siddipet: A leopard that was spotted on the outskirts of Godugupally village in Doulthabad mandal on Monday was found dead on Tuesday, hours after it was first seen by locals.
Villagers who noticed the leopard on Monday said it appeared weak and unable to move but was still alive. The animal was seen lying in the bushes throughout the day, raising concerns among residents. Although the locals promptly informed forest officials, they were unable to reach the spot on time to rescue it.
When the forest team arrived at the site on Tuesday, the leopard was found dead. Officials said veterinary doctors would conduct a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
