Rajanna-Sircilla: Leopard killed a lamb in Peddalingapur of Illandakunta mandal on Friday.
According to villagers, Payyavula Kanakaiah, a farmer, tied the lamb to a tree in his agricultural field on Thursday night. The leopard emerged from a nearby forest, attacked the lamb and killed it early on Thursday morning.
Farmers going to their agricultural fields found the lamb dead. They also found the pugmarks of the leopard. They informed the village sarpanch as well as forest officials.
Forest officials visited the village and took the measurements of the pugmarks of the leopard. Officials urged the villagers not to venture out alone during nights.
