Nagarkurnool: The pug marks of a leopard on the prowl was found near Ummapur and its surrounding areas in Vanguru mandal of Nagarkurnool district. The locals who sighted the pug marks of the animal on Friday informed both the police and the forest departments about the development.
The news spread like wildfire and the villagers are now scared to venture out of their homes during the festive season of Sankranti. A few villagers have even claimed to have sighted the leopard itself in the same locality, but the veracity of these claims could not be ascertained.
The forest officials who visited the spot, have confirmed that the pug marks belong to a leopard, and urged the villagers not to be worried as they have deployed teams to trace out the wild animal.
