Adilabad: A farmer committed suicide by hanging as he was depressed over alleged losses in farming at Anukunta village in Adilabad Rural mandal on Monday.
Adilabad Rural Sub-Inspector G Hari Babu said the deceased was Kasham Pedda Rajanna (70), a native of Anukunta village.
Rajanna resorted to the drastic step after he allegedly suffered losses in agriculture. He raised cotton crop in his 5 acre of land and in another 5 acre rented from his brother. He was unable to make profits this year and was faced with financial crisis. He was found hanging from a tree in an agriculture field.
The farmer is survived by wife, two daughters and a son. Police registered a case after his son Nagaraju lodged a complaint.
