Lower Manair Dam gates lifted to ease rising inflows in Karimnagar
Authorities lifted two floodgates of the Lower Manair Dam in Karimnagar on Tuesday to release 4,000 cusecs of water downstream, as inflows reached 8,000 cusecs. With water levels nearing full capacity, the move was aimed at managing pressure on the reservoir.

Karimnagar: The floodgates of the Lower Manair Dam (LMD) were lifted on Tuesday to release water into the downstream areas. Two gates were opened, discharging 4,000 cusecs.
Manakondur MLA Dr Kavvampalli Satyanarayana formally released the water by operating the gates. At present, the project is receiving an inflow of 8,000 cusecs, with water levels standing at 23.516 tmc against its full storage capacity of 24.034 tmc.
SUDA chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy, Collector Pamela Satpathy, Commissioner of Police Gaush Alam and other officials were present during the event.
