Mahabubabad: Thorrur police along with the Central Crime Station (CCS) police have arrested two members of an inter-state gang of thieves and recovered stolen property worth Rs 11 lakh from them on Saturday. The arrested were identified as Kuthati Paramesh of Sri Ramagiri village of Nellikuduru mandal of Mahabubabad district, and Dasari Ramu of the same village. One more member Kuthati Sampath of Ravirala village of Nellikuduru mandal is absconding.
Disclosing the details at a press conference here on Saturday, SP N Koti Reddy said that the police were conducting vehicle checking at Ambedkar centre and found two people in an autorickshaw suspicious and took them into custody. “During the questioning they confessed that they had committed thefts under Thorrur, Kesamudram, Narsimhulpet and Mahabubabad PS limits,” he said and added that the police had seized 23 tolas of gold ornaments and 40 tolas of silver ornaments from them. The SP appreciated and gave reward to Thorrur CI Cheralu, CCS CI Venkateshwar Rao, SI Riyaz Pasha, Thorrur SI CH Nagesh and other staff who were involved in the arrest of the thieves.
