Mahabubnagar: Residents of Burugupalli village, Koilkonda in Mahabubnagar, found a leopard with injuries on its rear legs lying in a field on Thursday. They immediately informed local forest officials who rushed to the spot.
“It’s movement is restricted due to injuries on the rear legs. They don’t appear to be serious and a rescue team from Nehru Zoological Park will be arriving in a while,” Mahabubnagar FDO C. Ganga Reddy said.
The leopard will be shifted to Nehru Zoological Park for treatment. Based on the Zoo park officials suggestions, future course of action will be decided, he said.
There have been few instances in Koilkonda in the recent past when leopards and hyenas attacked cattle in the villages.
