Maiden cyclothon by Forest dept evokes good response in Mancherial

Mancherial: The first cyclothon organized by the forest department in the forests of Luxettipet range evoked a good response from nature lovers and cyclists, in the Old Mancherial section at an abandoned quarry near Gadpur village in Hajipur mandal on Sunday.
Luxettipet Forest Range Officer A Subhash, who flagged off the event, said that the cyclothon was conducted in the forests of Old Mancherial section to promote eco-tourism and sustainable lifestyle and cycling. He stated that a 20-kilometer track was developed to introduce a jungle safari service in the forests. He stated that one could see spotted deer, Indian gaur, and many other herbivores.
The FRO further said that a slew of amenities such as a watch tower, machans and ticket counter would be created soon for the convenience of tourists. He informed that the safari service would be introduced soon at affordable prices. He added that they were planning to collaborate with voluntary organisations if required, besides ensuring livelihood to locals.
Vamshi, a cyclist from Somagudam of Kasipet mandal said that he was excited to have taken part in the first ever cyclothon in Mancherial forest division. He stated that the forests offer a serenity and cycling in the landscape was a memorable experience. Many participants expressed similar views and thanked the forest department for hosting the event.
