Hyderabad: Major General Prit Pal Singh took over the reins of the Bison Division as 35th General Officer Commanding (GOC) here on Sunday.
An alumnus of Indian Military Academy, Major General Prit Pal Singh was commissioned into the 62 Cavalry of Armoured Corps in 1989. In a career spanning over three decades, he has done active combat roles at respective stages of command in the Army. The General Officer possesses distinguished service profile, having attended various prestigious courses including the Defence Services Staff Course at Wellington, Higher Command Course at Mhow and National Defence Course at New Delhi.
He brings with him the vast experience of varied military theatres ranging from northern borders, deserts and counter insurgency/ counter terrorism operations. His command tenures include Command of a Regiment in Counter Terrorism Environment and Command of an Armoured Brigade in Strike Corps.
The General Officer has served in Department of Peacekeeping Operations at Headquarters United Nations, New York as also in United Nations Mission in Ethopia and Eritrea. For his distinguished service, he has been thrice awarded the GOC-in -C Commendation Card and a VCOAS Commendation Card.
