Karimnagar: District Collector RV Karnan emphasized the need to administer polio drops to all children below the age group of five years.
The Collector was speaking at a pulse polio preparatory meeting organized by the Medical and Health Department at the Collectorate conference hall here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, he asked the officials to make the pulse polio programme scheduled to be held on February 27 a grand success by administering drops to all the children. Children below the age group of five years must be given polio drops, he said and instructed officials to make all arrangements for the purpose.
Karnan directed the officials to set up camps in anganwadi centers, primary health centers, bus stands, railway stations, and crowded areas to administer the drops. He emphasized the need for a united effort to make the district a polio free area.
Children who don’t take the drops on February 27 would be given next day by health workers by visiting house to house.
Additional collector GV Shyamprasad Lal, DMHO Dr Juveria, district headquarters hospital superintendent Ratnamala, and officials of various departments were present.
