To monitor the working hours of Anganwadi centres, track children's attendance, house visits, and the distribution of take-home rations (THR), eggs, and Balamrutham, the Centre launched the Poshan Tracker app in 2020. Now, the government plans to enhance the app by adding a face authentication feature to further streamline the system. In addition to updating the app, beneficiaries' details, including their photo, Aadhar number, and phone number, will need to be uploaded.
Harish Rao emphasized the grim situation, noting that rents for Anganwadi centers have remained unpaid for the past 10 months. He criticized this as a glaring failure of one year under Congress rule. Addressing Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, he highlighted that 39,568 Anganwadi teachers and helpers are still awaiting their salaries.
