Warangal: Stating that only 4.6 per cent of engineering graduates possess good coding skills according to a survey, KITSW Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy said that the institute had been focusing on inculcating critical thinking, self-motivation, problem-solving skills, coding abilities or programming skills, communication skills, creative skills and professional ethics among B Tech students. An orientation programme for B Tech first-year students for the academic year 2021-22 was organised here on Monday.
“The objective of engineering programmes is imparting engineering knowledge, skill and qualities (KSQ). To make the students as good engineers, we are imparting sound knowledge in engineering science and technology, ability to solve well-defined problems, awareness of customer needs and market trends, ability to work as an individual and as a member of a team, the ability of documentation, plan and communicate effectively, willingness and ability to learn on the job and engineering and society together,” he said and added that they had introduced a unique initiative “Innovation, Incubation, Research and Entrepreneurship” culture.
Dean, Academic Affairs Prof V Rajagopal said that that the KITSW is in the AICTE-CII’s gold category since 2015. “The management provided the latest games and sports facilities such as indoor stadium, gymnasium for men and women and 25 acres of the playfield,” he added. All the Heads of the Department from the various engineering disciplines such as CSE, CSN, CSE(AI&ML), CSE (IoT), ECE, ECI, Mech., Civil, EEE, and IT, branches have given the presentation on the laboratories and equipment provided for the students at the college.
