India is a developing country and it has to reach its milestone of being a ‘developed country’. There are six pillars of human development, which ultimately causes nation development. They are — equity, sustainability, productivity, self-empowerment, cooperation and security.
India has seen rapid growth in equity, sustainability, cooperation and security. However, India has been lagging in productivity and self-empowerment. These two pillars are together called self-dependence.
We expect a heavily populated country to start with dependence on other countries and later on gear up its speed and become self-dependent. It is quite logical because initially, it needs help but later on when larger population, more work and thus more productivity and then self-empowerment joins in.
India has got this realisation in these tough times. As the pandemic has affected the economy of the country, self-dependence has come to our help. Our country’s natural resources are being rightly used for its development.
The greatest move for self-reliance was the boycott of Chinese products and not to depend on them anymore. Someone has rightly said, “Don’t depend too much in this world because even your shadow leaves you when you are in darkness”.
