Mala community to file 300 nominations in Jubilee Hills by-poll
The Mala community’s JAC has decided to file 300 nominations in the Jubilee Hills by-election to protest injustice due to SC categorisation. Leaders demanded amending the categorisation, enhancing reservations, and warned Congress of electoral backlash if issues remain unaddressed

Hyderabad: The Mala community’s Joint Action Committee (JAC) has decided to file 300 nominations for the Jubilee Hills by-election in protest against the injustice being done to the community due to Scheduled Caste (SC) categorisation.
Community leaders said that for the past five months, students and employees from nearly 25 sub-castes within the Mala community had been suffering severe losses in education, employment, and promotions in government departments due to the categorisation.
“Representations were submitted to the Congress and other political parties, but the issues have not been addressed. It is time to make Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Congress government realise the grave injustice being done to our community because of the categorisation,” JAC president Mandala Bhaskar said at a press conference here on Monday.
“As part of this protest, we have decided to file 300 nominations in the Jubilee Hills by-election,” he said, demanding that the State government immediately amend the SC categorisation, enhance reservations for the community, and allot roster points below 20. Coming down heavily on the Chief Minister, Bhaskar alleged that the categorisation was intended to destroy the Mala community’s opportunities in all sectors, particularly depriving its youth of employment and education.
“I appeal to Mala community members to teach a befitting lesson to the Congress in the Jubilee Hills by-election and ensure it fails miserably,” he said, warning that if the government did not change its stance, it
