Malkajgiri railway station redevelopment work going on at a brisk pace
Upon completion, the station which is about 3 km from Secunderabad will boast a modern facade, an improved circulating area and advanced passenger amenities
Hyderabad: The work related to the redevelopment of the Malkajgiri Railway Station, taken up as a part of the ‘NayaBharatNayaStation’ initiative of AmritBharat Station Scheme(ABSS) of Railway Ministry, is underway at a brisk pace.
As on date, about 60 per cent of the proposed development work has been completed. Simultaneously, all the works are in fast progress and are targetted to be completed in this financial year. The Malkajgiri station redevelopment is taken up with an approximate cost of Rs 27.61 crore.
The South Central Railway(SCR) authorities said the envisaged transformation of the Malkajgiri railway station was in good shape. Upon completion, the station which is about 3 km from Secunderabad will boast a modern facade, an improved circulating area and advanced passenger amenities.
The station is being upgraded with various passenger-friendly facilities, including a spacious concourse, waiting halls, food stalls, and restrooms. It also has provisions for divyangjan passengers, including separate toilets and ramps, etc. A total of 40 railway stations across Telangana are being upgraded.
Work being done at Malkajgiri railway station:
• Improvement of station building façade
• Provision of entrance portico
• Construction of FoB, lifts and escalators
• Platform surface improvements
• Improvements to waiting hall
• Landscaping in circulating area, circulating area improvements
• Depicting art and culture in station premises
• Provision of passenger friendly signages, train indication boards
