South Central Railway has shifted 18 trains from Secunderabad station to Malkajgiri, Hyderabad (Nampally), and Charlapalli between October 27 and November 26 due to redevelopment works. Passengers are advised to check new terminals and plan travel accordingly
The redevelopment of Malkajgiri Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is progressing swiftly, with 60 per cent of the work completed. The Rs 27.61 crore project will add modern facilities and amenities for passengers, including divyangjan-friendly infrastructure
Despite extensive investigation being conducted by four special teams, CCTV footage, inspections in various places, and technology, there has been no progress yet
Upon completion, the station which is about 3 km from Secunderabad will boast a modern facade, an improved circulating area and advanced passenger amenities
As many as 1,275 stations have been shortlisted across India for renovation and redevelopment by the Indian Railway. Among them, Malkajgiri railway station was selected and a budget of Rs 27 crore was allocated for developing work.
