Nirmal: A man was arrested for allegedly decamping with cash from temples and wine shops in Bhainsa town. Police seized 3.150 kilograms of silver and 3 tolas of gold from him.
Disclosing details of the arrest, Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila said that Vijay Shinde was apprehended while moving suspiciously during night patrolling in the town. She stated that Shinde was nabbed with the help of modern technology applied by the police.
On being interrogated, Shinde confessed to committing the crime to make a fast buck using short cut ways. He admitted to targeting temples and wine shops in the communally sensitive town. He revealed that he stole money from four temples and a wine outlet in recent times.
Sharmila commended Bhainsa ASP Avinash Kumar, Inspector Gopinath, Sub-Inspector Srinivas, head constable Anand and others for taking the burglar into custody.
