Adilabad: A man was arrested for allegedly cultivating ganja plants as an intercrop in his jowar field at Douna village in Sathnala mandal on Tuesday. Police seized 94 plants worth Rs 9.20 lakh from his farm.
Police said that Chakati Bapu Rao from the village was apprehended for growing the prohibited crop. He was found to be raising the plants in his farm when the police raided it following a tip-off. A case was registered against Rao and investigations were taken up. Police warned of stringent action against those who indulge in unlawful acts such as cultivating and smuggling of contraband substances.
