    Adilabad police arrested four persons for cultivating and selling ganja and seized 420 cannabis plants worth Rs. 42 lakh. The accused were allegedly growing the crop on farmland and supplying the substance to lorry drivers travelling on National Highway 44.

    Excise officials were attacked by tribal farmers in Narayankhed mandal while attempting to remove ganja saplings hidden within a cotton field. One constable was injured in the scuffle. The police later intervened, uprooted the illegal crop, and arrested the accused farmer.
  • Asifabad court sentences man to 10 years jail for growing ganja as intercrop

    A court in Kumram Bheem Asifabad sentenced a man to 10 years in prison and fined him Rs 10,000 for cultivating ganja on his farm in 2021. The court examined witness testimonies and evidence before delivering the verdict.
