Man arrested for driving car at over 200 kmph on Hyderabad ORR
A Hyderabad man was arrested for allegedly driving his newly purchased Volkswagen car at over 200 kmph on the Outer Ring Road. Police traced the accused through CCTV footage after a video of the speeding incident surfaced on social media.
Hyderabad: A man was arrested for driving a newly purchased car at over 200 kmph on the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
The person, identified as Yashwanth Reddy, reportedly told police that he wanted to test the speed of his recently bought Volkswagen car.
Police took note after the speeding video was shared on social media on Sunday and with the help of the CCTV footage, quickly traced the driver and nabbed him.
Officials have seized the vehicle and registered a case against him for dangerous driving and violating traffic rules.
Police authorities warned motorists that strict action would be taken against those involved in overspeeding, reckless driving, or performing stunts on the ORR.
