Mulugu: A married man was beaten to death in Lalaiahgudam village of Mulugu mandal because of his alleged illicit relationship with a minor girl.

Jadi Sammaiah (40) worked as an electrician at Eturnagaram in the district. He had two children but was allegedly maintaining an illicit relationship with a 16-year-old girl from Lalaiahgudem. He was also addicted to alcohol, locals said.

They said there were clashes in the family due to Sammaiah’s relationship with the girl and he repeatedly told his grandparents that he would marry the girl. His father was said to have lodged a complaint with the police two days ago about the clashes in the family.

It was said that on Sunday night, Sammaiah went to the girl’s village. However, the girl’s family members caught him and tied him to an electric pole before beating him indiscriminately. According to the villagers, Sammaiah died around midnight. Police officials visited the spot and are investigating the case.
