Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police, during routine enforcement, caught a youth for allegedly driving a bike with a fake registration number in SR Nagar.
The youth, Nagaraj (26), a private employee residing in Ameerpet, was found using a fake number plate on his Yamaha FZ bike. Police said he had replaced the original registration number (KA03KS5500) with a fake one (KA34ES3047) to escape traffic penalties.
Investigations revealed that the misuse resulted in multiple e-challans being wrongly issued to the genuine owner of the number KA34ES3047, a resident of Bellary district in Karnataka.
The SR Nagar police booked a case, and Nagaraj was served notice.
