Man dies after consuming spurious toddy in Kothagudem
Excise CI V Rajasekhar Rao visited the village to inquire into the incident
Kothagudem: One person died and two others were hospitalised after consuming spurious toddy in Allapalli mandal of Kothagudem district on Friday.
The deceased was identified as G Nageswara Rao(29) of Kommugudem village in the mandal. Two persons of Chintollagumpu village, Gogella Ramaiah and Chinta Narasaiah, who took ill were being treated at Kothagudem Area Hospital and were said to be stable.
The trio consumed toddy at Chintollagumpu village on Friday night and later suffered from symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea. They were first rushed to Yellandu Government Hospital and later to Kothagudem Hospital.
Excise CI V Rajasekhar Rao visited the village to inquire into the incident. He said it was yet to be confirmed that the death was caused because of consumption of spurious toddy. Allapalli police registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
