Man held for hurting religious sentiments in Mancherial
Accused Kadari Dinakar booked under various sections of IT ACT, 2008, following a complaint received from Viramalla Gopal Rao on November 16
Mancherial: A private employee was arrested for allegedly posting derogatory comments and videos on Facebook and WhatsApp groups, hurting sentiments of a section of people, in Luxettipet town on Wednesday.
Producing the accused before media, in-charge Mancherial ACP, Narender said that the accused was Kadari Dinakar, a resident of Venkatraopet village in Luxettipet mandal. Dinakar has been working as a home taker with Ramakrishna Old-age Home and Homecare service in Hyderabad.
During the course of interrogation, Dinakar confessed to making objectionable remarks and posting videos against Hindu religion on social media platforms. He was booked under various sections of the Information Technology ACT, 2008, following a complaint received from Viramalla Gopal Rao on November 16. He was sent to a judicial remand.
The ACP warned that stern action would be taken against those resorting to objectionable remarks. He suggested the users of social media platforms to respect the faith of others and live in harmony with others.
