Man held in Hyderabad with blackbuck horns

Hyderabad: The Task Force (East) team nabbed a man on charges of illegal possession and attempting to sell blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra) horns on Thursday.
The arrested suspect, Mohd Kaleemuddin alias Saleem (54) of Shaheen Nagar, a mason originally from Sadasivapet, had found the horns during demolition work and smuggled them to Hyderabad.
He reportedly powdered and sold small portions by falsely claiming medicinal value before trying to sell the horns in the market.
Police seized the horns and handed the accused over to the Forest Department.
A case has been booked under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
