Hyderabad: A 27-year-old man was murdered over a petty issue at Asifnagar on Saturday night.

According to the police, the victim Jitender (27) from Uttar Pradesh was working at a furniture workshop belonging to Muntazir located at Kishannagar in Asifnagar police station limits. Jitender stayed at the workshop of Muntazir during the night.

On Friday, Farooq, who is also from Uttar Pradesh, came to meet Muntazir’s friend Taufeeq, who lived near his house. As Taufeeq did not have a place to accommodate Farooq at his house, he requested Muntazir allow Farooq to stay in the workshop.

“Both Farooq and Jitender went to the workshop on Saturday to sleep. On Sunday morning, Jitender was found murdered in the workshop while Farooq was seen sitting near the body,” said Asifnagar Inspector, N Ravinder.

The police took into custody Farooq, who told that he had a brawl with Jitender over an issue pertaining to a mobile phone and attacked him. A case under Section 302 (murder) of IPC is booked and the police are investigating.
