A Bolero car, fake identity cards and voter ID cards were seized from the accused, Kota Venkatesh
Hyderabad: A man, who allegedly impersonated himself as a member of the South Central Railway Board and moved in a vehicle with a board announcing the designation, was nabbed by the Rachakonda Police Special Operations Team on Tuesday. A Bolero car, fake identity cards and voter ID cards were seized from him.
The accused, Kota Venkatesh (44) of LB Nagar, was a Divisonal Railway Users Consultative Committee member of SCR for two years from 2014. “Even after his term was over, he affixed a board and introduced himself as a member of the SCR Board and also threatened people showing identity cards and moving around in the vehicle,” Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat said.
On Tuesday evening, Venkatesh was caught at the LB Nagar check post while moving around during the lockdown period. “When questioned by the police, he claimed to be a member of the SCR board. On verification it was found to be untrue and he was booked,” the Commissioner said.
