Suryapet: After throwing his six-year-old aged son into an agriculture open well, a man committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Anumamula village of Athmakur (S) mandal in the district on Thursday.
Surakanti Ram Reddy (45) pushed his younger son Thanush Reddy (6) into the open well in his agriculture fields at the village, and later committed suicide. In a suicide note, he said no one was responsible for his actions.
Ram Reddy left his house along with his younger son at 10 am and when he did not return till afternoon, the family members went to the agriculture field and found him lying dead. A pesticide bottle was found beside his body.
Since Tanush’s belongings of the boy were found near the well, the family took up search for the boy but his body has not been found yet.
In the suicide note, Ram Reddy said he had harassed his wife Padma for which he sought apology.
According to his relatives, Ram Reddy had become an alcoholic and had lost mental balance. He had also taken treatment for psychological disorders at a private hospital in Hyderabad a few months back.
Athmakur (S) police filed a case and took up investigation.
