Man who took loan to bid for wine shops ends life in Telangana’s Asifabad

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A man from Kagaznagar died, allegedly by suicide, as he was depressed over his inability to repay loans that he had taken for participating in bidding to get licences to run wine shops. His body was found in the forests of Peddabanda village in Sirpur (T) mandal on Sunday.
Police said Mamidi Venkatesh (32) from Kapuwada in Kagaznagar town was found hanging from a tree near a temple in the forests.
Venkatesh was disheartened by mounting debts and his inability to repay the loans. He had availed the loans to participate in bidding to secure a license to operate a liquor outlet. He left home on Friday and told his family members that he would meet his friends in Mandamarri town. However, his body was found later.
He is survived by a daughter and son. Based on a complaint received from his wife Anusha, a case was registered. Investigations are on.
