Mulugu: District Collector Krishna Aditya here on Thursday said that 125 schools out of 556 had been selected for the implementation of the ‘Mana Ooru- Mana Badi’ programme in the district in the first phase of the programme. Addressing a review meeting with the concerned department officials at the conference hall, he has explained the 12 areas/items of the development to be taken up under the ‘Mana Ooru- Mana Badi’ programme “ If there is an Anganwadi center on the school premises, the concerned HM has to coordinate with the supervisor of the ICDS and run both the schools efficiently,” he said and reminded that Rs 4.50 lakh had been sanctioned for the construction of a new building for each Anganwadi centre by the NITI Aayog in the district.
“77 primary schools, 15 upper primary and 33 high schools were selected under the ‘Mana Ooru- Mana Badi’ programme,” he said and added that they had selected the schools based on the strength of the school.
Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Ila Tripathi, Additional Collector (Revenue) YV Ganesh, DRO K Ramadevi, Education Officer G Panini, District Welfare Officer Prema Latha, HMs of the selected schools, teachers, Anganwadi workers, Engineering Department and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
