Manakondur MLA escapes unhurt in lift collapse incident

Karimnagar witnessed yet another lift mishap on Saturday when Manakondur MLA Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, along with six others, was trapped after the lift cables snapped at Chemist Bhavan.

Karimnagar: Close on the heels of the SC, ST Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar’s lift accident, another incident of lift malfunction took place in Karimnagar town on Saturday. This time around, Manakondur MLA Kavvampalli Satyanarayana faced difficulty.

The MLA had attended the birthday celebrations of a senior Congress leader Arepalli Mohan held in Chemist Bhavan. While returning from celebrations, Satyanarayana, along with six others boarded the lift on the second floor.

However, the lift cables snapped and the capsule collapsed. Though none was injured, the passengers were shocked by the sudden incident. It may be recalled here that the minister Laxman Kumar escaped from an accident that occurred when a lift collapsed in a private hospital on May 13 night.

The minister visited One Hospital in Karimnagar town to comfort a maize farmer Rajaiah, who was undergoing treatment in the hospital.

While returning, Laxman Kumar boarded the lift on the first floor to come down to the ground floor. However, the lift suddenly fell down and got stuck. Hospital staff rushed to the spot and rescued the minister by opening the lift. Laxman Kumar escaped from the incident without any injuries.

The Assistant Project Director, DRDA Rajanna-Sircilla, Kura Narsimhulu got stuck in the collectorate office lift on May 26. He had to spend more than one hour as the lift got stuck in the middle due to technical problems.
