Mancherial: Aspirants of Hindi language teacher jobs have alleged that posts of Language Pandit (LP) and School Assistant (SA) belonging to Hindi language were filled up with ineligible candidates in the recent District Selection Committee (DSC).
The contention of the aspirants was that the candidates who did not pursue a degree course with Hindi as one of the optional subjects from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission UGC (UGC), were selected as Language Pandit and School Assistant jobs in DSC-2024, violating memo number 9991 issued by the Education department in November 2023. The memo was issued in accordance with a government order numbered 25 dated October 10, 2017. As per the government order, the candidate must possess graduation with Hindi as optional subject from a university recognised by UGC or 4-year BA B Ed/BSc B Ed with Hindi as methodology from any institution recognized by NCTE.
The candidates who studied Hindi Vidwan/Madhyama/Visharad of Hindi Prachar Sabha, Hyderabad or Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Allahabad or Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras, Hindi Pandit Training, and MA Hindi from Dr Ambedkar Open University and some other universities were recruited as Hindi LPs and SAs (Hindi).
Posts of six LPs and six SAs were filled up by DSC in Mancherial district alone.
As per the memo number 9991, an expert committee opined Hindi Vidwan/Madyama/Visharad of Hindi Prachar Sabha, Hyderabad or Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Allahabad or Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras is not equivalent to graduation offered by any university recognized by the UGC.
“As a result, those who studied BA Hindi, a three-year long course and MA Hindi were met with gross injustice. The members of the selection committee are not fully aware of memo number 9991 and GO 25. They recruited LPs and SAs without following guidelines of the memo and GO, causing injustice to genuine aspirants,” an aspirant from Mancherial regretted.
The aspirants accused members of the DSC in different districts of Telangana of indulging in large scale corruption to fill up the posts of LPs and SA (Hindi) and flouted norms. They stated that they would approach the court soon against the selection of the LPs and SAs soon and expose wrongdoings of the officials.
