Mancherial DEO, 18 MEOs asked to appear before Information Commission
The Telangana Information Commission directed the Mancherial DEO and 18 MEOs to appear in person on October 13 over failure to provide information sought by RTI activist K Rajender. The activist alleged that delays affected transparency and accountability.

Mancherial: The District Educational Officer (DEO) and 18 mandal educational officers (MEOs) in Mancherial district were directed to appear before the Telangana Information Commission on October 13 for failing to provide information to an activist under the Right to Information Act.
K Rajender, an RTI activist from the town, said the commission had directed the DEO and MEOs to appear in person before it for failing to provide information sought by him under the RTI Act. He claimed that the commission was unhappy with the officers for allegedly delaying the information, affecting the objectives of the Act, transparency and accountability.
