Mancherial: SCCL orders probe into roof collapse incident

Mancherial: SCCL orders probe into roof collapse incident

Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) on Wednesday ordered a probe into the roof collapse incident in underground mine of SCCL’s SRP 3 and 3A incline at Srirampur in Mancherial district.

V Krishna Reddy (57), B Laxmaiah (60), G Satyanarayana Raju (32) and R Chandrasekhar (32) died in the incident. Reddy and Laxmaiah were working as timber man while Raju and Chandrasekhar were working as badli workers.


SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar said job would be given to one of the bereaved family members on compassionate grounds in any Singareni area preferred by the victim’s family.

In all, each bereaved family would be getting Rs.70 lakh to Rs.1 crore including matching grant and gratuity immediately from the SCCL. Instructions in this regard were already issued. Terming the incident as unfortunate, Sridhar asked officials concerned to take necessary steps to ensure that such incidents should not occur in future. He said the SCCL would extend necessary support to the bereaved families.
