Mancherial villagers take up padayatra for road facility
Ankusham villagers submitted a written application to Collectorrequesting her to take steps to lay a 2-kilometer-long road facility from Boyapalli to Ankusham village at the earliest
Mancherial: Over 70 residents including women of Ankusham village in Thandur mandal took up padayatra from their habitation to the Collectorate demanding road facility to their settlement on Monday.
They started the padayatra at 9 am from the village and reached the district headquarters at 5 pm and met Collector Bharati Hollikeri.
The villagers submitted a written application to Bharati requesting her to take steps to lay a 2-kilometer-long road facility from Boyapalli to Ankusham village at the earliest. Sai Kumar, one of the protesters, said that the Collector assured them to visit the village in a week. He said that she promised to take steps for constructing the road to the village.
Sai Kumar told Telangana Today, that they were facing many hardships due to the lack of road facility. He said they had been requesting elected representatives and officials concerned to address the issue for quite a long time, but none of them have bothered about the problem, he regretted.
